  • You in charge – education and evidenced-based information – we will always follow your instinct for what’s best for you and your baby

  • Nourishment of mind, body, and soul – we discuss so much more than just your aches, pains, and growth of your baby

  • Total postpartum care – 4 in-home visits following the birth of your baby, and 2 in-office visits, not just one quick 6-week checkup

Midwife Lennon –

Personalized Home Birth Midwife, Salem Oregon

Hi, I’m Lennon…

Birth is a normal life event, not a medical event. With over 15 years of experience, I can help you navigate the unknown while finding confidence in the power of your own body.

I believe that home birth should be accessible to anyone who wants it. Women were made to birth their babies but sadly many people have lost the ancient wisdom of how. But it’s not lost on midwives!

We are the experts in normal physiological birth and I am passionate about bringing this knowledge back to mothers and their babies.

I’d love to get to know you and build a relationship with you while you navigate such a wonderful and joyful time in your life.

Mission statement

To support the normal process of birth so you can have a safe and empowering experience. To provide exceptional, individualized care for birthing women and their families. And always respect physiological birth and informed choice.

  • You love the idea of sleeping in your bed the night your baby is born

  • You want a home birth midwife that knows you and respects your choices and desires

Lennon is incredibly knowledgeable and has years of personal and professional experience. I had a successful, beautiful, safe, home birth after cesarean. Lennon was a wealth of knowledge, reassurance, and encouragement. She was a vital resource after my baby was born as well. She empowers women to own their birth experience and advocates that women choose what works best for them. My husband was nervous about a home birth and Lennon’s knowledge helped put his mind at ease. She’s very welcoming, supportive and non-judgmental. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

FAQs for a Home Birth Midwife

  1. I have a lot of questions about home birth with a midwife, do you offer a free consultation?

Absolutely! You can call or email me to set up a 1-hour appointment so you can ask questions and we can get to know each other.

  2. Where are the appointments held?

All prenatal visits, apart from the 36-week home visit, are at my office in Salem. The first two weeks of postpartum visits are in your home.

  3. Do you offer breastfeeding support?

Yes! I have successfully breastfed my four children, I was a La Leche Leader for many years, and I have helped hundreds of women learn the art of breastfeeding. You can see more about my services here.

  4. Is home birth legal in Oregon?

Yes, home birth is legal in Oregon. No one can restrict where you choose to give birth. Midwives can practice as Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), Certified Practicing Midwives (CPMs), Naturopathic Midwives, or Traditional Midwives.

  5. Can my older children be at the birth?

As far as I’m concerned, you can have whomever you choose. You are in charge of what your birth looks like!

  6. Is home birth covered by insurance?

This will depend on your coverage and policy. I am considered an out-of-network provider. I work with families, as needed, about the finances. Please, don’t let finances keep you from your desire for a home birth.

  7. Does Medicaid cover home birth?

I accept Oregon Health Plan. About 25% of my clients use Medicaid.

  8. If I want to give birth at home, how do I get the birth certificate and social security card?

I can file for both in the state of Oregon. It’s not complicated at all!

Birth is the most important and natural part of life – without it, none of us would be here. So, why not welcome your baby in a safe, peaceful environment, surrounded by the people who love you the most? It’s an honor for a home birth midwife to be present at a birth, and I would love to walk with you and support you through such a beautiful time.

Lennon was at my daughter’s birth! She gave me the privacy I needed, while still helping me feel supported. My family feels very thankful she attended our birth. ❤️❤️❤️
